12.07.2005 i think we all agree that the army is a sad sad place to be, the wayang acts of inefficient (and sometimes very crude) warrant officers and uncompassionate commissioned ones leave us feeling awed by the stupidity of the human race. but sometimes we come to the startling realisation that maybe the saf's not all filled to the brim with nincompoops after all. the most miraculous thing happened today: a warrant officer (unknown to me) offered to give me a lift as i was walking out of pasir laba camp tonight, his car stopped short just as i was crossing the road and he wound down the window and inquired me where i was headed. my mom was fetching me anyway so i turned down the offer. but oh the very thought! the out-of-the-blue kindness blew me away and i left the camp happy. and before you cynical shitheads start giving ridiculous comments that he was probably going to drive me to some ulu corner of the island and rape me due to some weird fetish for joannepeh and ruien-lookalikes (that is, besides the point that i don't look like joannepeh at all and barely look like ruien) it is absolutely not possible because he was driving an suv and therefore is probably happily married to a wife he can fuck all night long. so there. 21:54 / and blackened tears fell with mine // |
