i watched a well-groomed, but nonetheless frail and lonely, old lady in a purple dress pick up a frilly turquoise skirt off a clotheshanger to fit it upon herself, whilst the shopkeeper continued looking bored in his chair behind the counter.

and then, i felt a wave of sadness rush over me.

i wasn't particularly disappointed by the lousy service standards; i don't expect much from a local shophouse shop. but the idea of losing my youth and companionships one day bothers me so much i wish i could die now.

she stood out from the crowd because it was such a fashionable colour, with the rise of lee-hwa's purple gold collection, and the dress being too formal to appear in a hdb estate.

and particularly because she was so alone- (just like me)

in another thought, i contemplate on whether we should be who we are or who we have the capacity to be. it would be a great loss (economically and in terms of self-accomplishment) if we give up the chance to be who we might become, but would it be an even greater loss to lose hold of who we really are, or is that merely a spiritual illusion?

aside, why does yanzi sound less like herself when she played a greater part in the production of this particular album?

i just came to the astonishing realisation that i've spent up to 120 dollars on music this month (after buying 60 bucks worth of albums today). and if i add the other materialistic pleasures that i've spent on, it amounts to about S$350, and that's not including the meal and transport essentials and treats i give out on birthdays (including my own!).

i need a sugardaddy, or a wealthy businesswoman who needs company. DESPERATELY.
