7.13.2005 Mrs Goh Chok Tong has just lost all credibility (according to me, at least) by supporting Mr Durai and thereby continuing to be a patron of NKF. to quote her loosely, she feels that a salary of $600,000 is peanuts for a CEO of a company who earns millions. the issue is, this is NOT just any other ordinary company. it is a charitable organisation (or so we were led to believe). we lower/middle class would not support a charity in which the CEO gobbles as much as $25k a month of our donations and still claim to be in the interest of those morbidly ill. from what i see, this is turning out to be a war between us ordinary people and those people who earn ten times more than what we do. Mrs Goh apparently does not deserve to be enjoying life as much as she does now. i simply dislike people who think they're doing good by attending high-class social charity functions and/or signing cheques to a certain needy organisation without knowing exactly what is going on. i am happy, though, that NKF is doomed thanks to Mr Durai. so many people are withdrawing their monthly donations through GIRO and ten thousands have beaten me to writing emails to request for the resignation of Mr Durai. i am sad, though, that NKF is doomed. although i doubt the kidney patients would be further worse off without the minimal subsidies provided by NKF. 21:37 / and blackened tears fell with mine // |
